training courses enable you to understand the requirements
of visually impaired people, including people who are deafblind.
The courses have been designed by specialists, including people
who are visually impaired. The length, content of the course
and our teaching methods can be adapted to your requirements.
Most participants favour a practically based approach, which
enables them to develop their skills and knowledge. Here is
an example of the Aims and Objectives of a sample course:
Aim
To
enable participants to understand the requirements of people
who have a visual impairment.
Objectives
At the end of the session, participants will be able to:

Describe the types of vision which are most commonly experienced
by people who have a visual impairment.
2.
Explain how to assist a person who has a visual impairment
to make best use of any residual vision.
3.
Demonstrate how to communicate appropriately.
4.
Demonstrate how to guide a person who has a visual impairment.
5.
Explain how to make an environment more accessible and safer
for visually impaired people.
6.
Describe the specialist services and equipment which are available
to people who have a visual impairment.
